That's the small Sopwith Camel set that was given out as a freebie by the LEGO store for buying over $75 worth of stuff in one purchase. They seem to have these things every month. There's a larger Sopwith Camel model that is pretty expensive. It has a more dark green color scheme. I'm not that interested in that set. This small version has 65 pieces in a polybag and they make a nice little airplane. I put it together and it's sitting on one of the parts tubs. Most of the parts are common ones that I have but those 13 sand green tiles are most attractive. I might leave it built for a while, at least until I decide I need those tiles someday.
Back when I was a young lad in the late 1960's there was a band called The Sopwith Camel. I had a single of theirs with the song The Great Morpheum on one side and I was fascinated by it. I listen to it now and it's okay but I used to play it a lot. Mind you I didn't have that much to listen to in those days. Funny, now that the world has coughed up all it's musical treasures in one big heap I'm not that interested in listening to much music anymore. I liked another song the group did called Hello, Hello. They were part of the San Francisco Psychedelic music screen but they were rather heavily influenced by the sounds of much older music, almost vaudevillian.
