I brought my Spaceport layout to the Brickmania-GMLTC Open House June 9 and set it up for everyone to look at. The group's in a new space in the same building. That's Dan's truck parked in the space. Did I say bigger? That's the sales area up on the right with Dan's models on this side of the sales shelves. See that kid touching Dan's Vietnam moc. You got to watch them kids and occasionally tell them to get their dirty mitts off the LEGO. We laugh at the crying kids who can't touch the LEGO being pulled away by their parents. There are always a few each show.
Looking over the Spaceport to the refreshment stand. It was 91 degrees outside and that probably helped sell a few pops. GMLTC has their layout and John Neal and son have their layout. Down on the right is the play area. The crowds were steady but not large.
The Mall Of America is having a 20th Anniversary and the LEGO store celebrated that by having multiple events at the mall over the weekend. There was a fan componant and TwinLUG and GMLTC members supplied mocs for people to look at. You can see the wide variety at my Flickr photostream. Brian brought a whole van full of stuff including his really big church. I brought the Harry Potter Bookends and some Micropolis. Several members of the local LEGO clubs came out to help man the table over the three days. Lots of people stopped to look and hopefully they had a good time.
