Sadly the Heartlake dog show only has two dogs in it so it's not much of a competition. Still the winning doggie gets a trophy and both get a ribbon. There's even a place for the winner to stand above the looser. You build a doggie runway with steps, what I guess is a
doggie grooming station, some show props like that bar to jump over and a see saw. That runway is more like a runway for human models. Seems to me most dog shows I've seen are set up with large open areas so the dogs can be run and walked around in a circle. I don't see much doggie programming but a quick Google search seems to confirm my thoughts. There are 183 pieces, including 1 minifig, for 20 bucks. That's
about 11 cents a piece. There's a nice big green 16x16 plate that might come in handy if I could figure out a use for the ones I already have. It's got a mix of mostly white, tan, lime and dark pink parts. There's yellow and mauve and medium azure in small quantities. This is
one of the few sets that I didn't pick up and probably won't. I've started to accumulate some amount of these bright colored parts and I don't think I need any more yet. There's a second wave of Friends sets out in Europe already and they are due here in the US pretty soon. I've been looking at them online. Not all of them are of interest to me as yet. I keep hoping I'll see some of the current ones on clearance but it hasn't happened yet. Currently it's the beginning of July and Target is starting to clearance out old sets to make room for the new sets. I'll keep looking.
You get another Mia in this set but this one has a different costume than the other two versions of her minifig. On all the dolls there are only 6 leg types but they come in plenty of colors. The torsos are pretty much the same but for the paint. If you wind up with duplicats figures you can wwap stuff around and make your own brand new Friends. There are those two dogs I mentioned, one white and one dark orange. They're more like Duplo animals than System Brick animals. You gets some assortment of the new Friends accessories in medium lavender. There's a light bluish gray trophy cup, a light bright orange dish, a new
camera that has a 1x1 black round brick attached, a couple of small bones and a 1x1 medium azure round brick with something dog related printed on it. So, some good stuff and some stuff that isn't going to be as useful as some other sets I'd rather have. I guess I'd rather spend the money on a cup from the Pick-A-Brick or some clearance sets.
