I finally finsihed the 2nd season of the US version of Being Human. That's the show where a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost all share the same house in Boston. They were trying to lead a normal life but the writers never seem to let that happen. At the end of season 1 Aiden, the vampire, killed the head of Boston's Vampires. Now he's the boss and that's a head full of aches right there. Josh, the werewolf, has scratched his girlfriend Nora and she's now a werewolf. That doesn't go well as you might expect. Sally, the ghost, gets a visit from a powerful spirit, the Reaper, who can kill ghosts. That screws her up a lot. Mother, the head of all the vampires in the area tells Aiden that she's decided to let him run the Boston vampires but only under her daughter. Suren, the daughter, had crossed her mom and mom buried her as punishment. Suren is pretty screwed up from being in a box in the dirt for 80 years and she's already a nasty ass bitch on top of that. She and Aiden had a romance back then. Mom sends a vampire to go kill Josh so he won't be a distraction to Aiden getting his vamp on. Nora, in full on wolf mode, kills that vampire pretty dead. And that's just in the first couple of episodes.
The rest of the season, of 13 episodes, brings one awful problem after another. Sally's old boyfriend, the one who killed her, went to jail for it. He's killed in jail and returns as a ghost. He's killed by the Reaper. Josh and Nora meet some other werewolves who enjoy the wolf part of their life and Nora bugs out with them. She's not handling her new lifestyle very well. The police take an interest in some of the deaths and start to investigate Josh. Sally meets a woman who can communicate with ghosts and helps ghost with a support group. Sally kills ghost group after going round the bend. She just isn't fun to be with anymore.
Matter of fact there isn't much fun in the series at all. Death, murder, double crossing and misery are all anyone can expect. These are some miserable ass people who all need to get a stake in the heart. The season ends with a fist full of cliff hangers. I'm getting tired of those for the most part. I recorded the episodes of off cable and watched them when I get a disc full. I wouldn't go out and buy the dvd now that I have seen them. I doubt that I would want to watch them more than another time. There's plenty of good acting and the production value is pretty good. I'll try the third season if there is one. I bet there will be, it's one of the highest rated shows on SyFy, with 1.8 million viewers. That's not that many people is it? Doesn't take many to be a hit on SyFy. That's still a lame name for a network.
