Stuck between the 2nd and 3rd series of The League Of Gentlemen is a Christmas Special. It came out 2 days after Christmas in 2000. Series 2 had aired in January and February of the same year and the 3rd series wouldn't arrive until October of 2002. You have to be patient for British TV to unfold. Better the show is done and everything's collected into one nice box set.
The CS is a longer format than the usual half hour program. Three characters tell their wows to Vicar Bernice on Christmas Eve. She hates Christmas, when she was a small child her mother was kidnapped by Papa Lazarou. Charlie thinks his wife has joined a voodoo coven to stop him winning the line dancing contest. What a silly man, doesn't he know winning a line dancing contest in the UK makes him a looser. Another man tells of a visit to see Herr Lipp in 1975 that ends with vampires. I did learn that German vampires are really ugly. The Royston Vasey vet learns why animals die at his slightest touch. I did learn never to touch someone's monkey balls.
All in all a pretty silly bunch of stuff. There's plenty of extras too. Interviews and radio stuff. Takes a while to get through but most of it was worth hearing or seeing or both.
