PRIMITIVE SCREWHEADS

I haven't seen much of the Star Wars Animated series. I don't know why. I might buy it down the road. That's one Sexy R2, huh? Damn.

 

There's a giant Animated Leia, a small bust, and a Kenner action figure. That small bust kind of statue has turned out to be fairly popular. At least there are a lot of companies putting out many busts each month. I wonder if they are selling?

    

Many, many versions of Princess Leia. I never saw that paint the figurine. I doubt that I would buy one now. Painting it with the paints that come with the figure would not yield something near as good as the version in the packaging. Not for me anyway and certainly not with the brush that they give you. You might paint a small house with it. Painting it a solid color would be easier and probably more attractive.

Princess Leia Figures

I don't remember buying any of the Kenner Star Wars action figures when the movie came out. I spent my money on records in those days. I bought a few in the 90's but haven't seen them in a while.

That's a cardboard cutout of Princess Leia on the right. Life-size. I got a John Sheridan from Babylon 5 in my front room. Life-size. Trouble with big stuff?

   

There have been a lot of Princess Leia statues. I never bought any of them. I have two or three action figures. I do have an early Jabba figure somewhere. I'll get to them eventually.

At least the picture of Princess Leia on the box looks like Carrie Fisher. I don't know who those dolls are.

Leia Underoos. I'm not even going to go there. Yeah, I am. At least her face isn't on the bottom half.

I guess someone told someone that Jodie Foster was considered for the role of Princess Leia. I would have thought they could have just dropped her face into the head. That hat just looks stupid. People. They are always up to something.

I don't understand what's going on in that Leia underwater picture. The baby Leia costume is cute but...you don't need that. Babies and white clothes just don't make no sense. The Hallmark ornament looks pretty good. Leia has been made into a plethoria of action figures and dolls. Some are good and some bad.

It's Raining Leia's

Sperhauk sent me a link to this video of a massive pile of Princess Leia's. They are posed around a fullsize Jabba the Hut at some convention recently. The video takes a while to load but it's kind of interesting in a Leia heavy way. I started looking for some more Leia pictures off of the internet. As you can imagine there are tons of them. Especially of Leia in the metal bikini.

   

And you have to admit she's a stunner. People are still talking about that outfit thirty years later. Last friday, March 25th, was the release day of the first movie. The History Channel had a nice 2 hour special called Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed. Not so much was revealed as revered. It's being repeated the first couple of weeks in June. Check your local listings.

   

There were many people interviewed for that History Channel program. Some historians and professors I never heard of are joined by filmmakers like Peter Jackson, Joss Whedon, J. J. Abrams and Kevin Smith, educator Camille Paglia, film critic Elvis Mitchell, politician Nancy Polosi and Newt Gingrich, news people like Linda Ellerbee and Tom Brokaw.

 

One of my favorite quotes came from Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report. " Star Wars came out and we went to school the next day unable to explain to our friends how everything was different now."

 

It was that shot above that captured me, like a fly in a spider web. Princess Leia in her bikini pales in comparison to the image of Leia with a gun.

 

Now that's sexy.

Carrie Fisher sure is pretty.
