I was poking around the Internet Archive today and found this independant movie by Derek Lake. He was was 17 when it was made in 2003 for $800. Lake died the following year and I can't seem to find much about him on the Internet. His feature length movie is about a guy named Will who wants to make a lightsaber. All his pals are big fans of the Star Wars series but they think he's crazy. Will figures out how to make one and then discovers the force in himself. Anger and fear fuel his power. Oops, that leads to the dark side of the force. That can't be good. Sure enough all his friends try to stop him. With lightsabers. It's not too bad, mostly guys talking, but it's kind of slow. It's packed with teen angst and dickishness with lightsabers. Worth checking out because of it's oddity but mostly it's for the Star Wars fan.
