Here's another Boris Karloff film that I hadn't seen in a while. The Black Room is a 1935 film with Boris in two roles. It's written by Henry Myers and Arthur Strawn and directed by Roy William Neill.
Boris plays the evil Baron Gregor de Berghmann on the left and his nice brother Anton de Berghmann. Gregor is so evil the villagers want to kill him. Gregor calls his brother home to murder him and take his place. This is after Gregor announces he's going to renounce his title and leave everything to the nice brother. The villagers are happy, Gregor is real prick who's been murdering people, mostly women.
The rest of the movie is waiting until he's caught and vengeance is delivered to the bastard. It was pretty entertaining. The cast is good and they have an equally good script to work with. They pack a lot of story into 70 minutes. I don't know that I need to buy a copy but I'm glad to have seen it again.
