When I get up in the am I usually take a quick gander at TV Guide dot com to see what's on. They have made the site better in the last six months. You can book mark the listings and look things up with the search. I think you still have to register but it's quick and easy and I don't recall getting any emails. I always check out what's on at Turner Classic Movies. There is something of interest quite often. I mostly look for comedies. Then crime stories. I took a chance on His Kind Of Woman. Normally, I'm not such a big Robert Mitchum fan, and Jane Russell is so way below my radar it doesn't even beep when I see her name. The movie has some good character actors, Vincent Price, Jim Baccus, Raymond Burr, and a favorite of mine, Paul Frees, has a small part. Mitchum plays a small time gambler and drifter. Some guys contact him and kick him around. He owes some money to some guys. A large cash offer and a trip out of town sounds good to Bob. He arrives in Mexico, still not knowing what is in store for him. There's just a large pile of cash as a come on. He meets Jane there and they get some romance going. Vincent Price is an actor on vacation. There are some other odd people there. Burr has a devious plan and Mitchum is a big part of it. The first part of the movie is pretty dark and noir. It lightens up considerably when Price is on hand and that leads to a rather fun last half with a great shoot out on a boat. Nice of TCM to run stuff like this.
