Shannon Young posted a series of photos depicting various brick ratios on MOCpages. Very helpful if you want to try some SNOT work. For non-LEGO readers that doesn't have anything to do with tissues. SNOT is short for studs not on top and it's become a blanket for any building technique that creats a smooth surface. I had seen some of this material on other sites. It's well packaged here with good clear pictures and descriptive text. It's a good page to bookmark or save a copy of the pictures for future reference. Here's a couple more samples. I really like the color combination of the picture on the left. It's almost like a little sculpture. I bet that would look great as big as a car on my lawn.
Of course I'm right there with Phippy (from MOCpages) when I say the math hurts these lazy old brain cells. Hopefully thinking about these complicated ideas will help with Alzheimer's down the road, though being a drooling idiot and not having to take care of yourself does have it's appeal in a Grampa Simpson kind of way.
