Since I am carrying a camera with me it seems natural that I should take pictures with it. There are some LEGO displays at the local stores that I caught my camera's eye. I have been posting them to Flickr and eventually here. I also put up a Hero Factory video display on Flickr. The minifig sign and the fire station and truck were in Target. The space center was at TRU. They look nice but I still am not going to be buying much of the City theme. I do buy the occasional small set, like that Jet Ski or last years Police and Criminal Battle Pack that had the new dog in it. I also wind up with some of the
parts from City sets when I score grab bags at the LEGO store. I got a big chunk of the fire station and airport sets about a month ago. The LEGO store changed their grab bag content policy just after that. The old way was to make that bag pretty darn full. Usually they were over 500 parts in a bag, though many of them were the smaller 1x1 and 1x2 parts from the Pick-A-Brick that had fallen on the floor. I wound up with nearly 4000 trans orange cheese slopes from just a few bags one month a year or so ago. They wanted to get rid of the last of them from the PAB wall. If a part seems to go slowly or there's less than a cup left they wind up in the grab
gab tub. When that tub gets pretty full they make grab bags. Now the rule for filling a grab bag is one PAB cup. That's a pretty good size cup and costs $15. The grab bag is $8. The last few I got had about 300 part per bag. That's still pretty good for the cost, I just miss the old heavy bags. The only other good thing about the recent grab bag policy is they are tossing in the minifigs. They used to cull them out and put them in a box. If an employee got a nice comment from the web survey that the reciept directed you to they got to pick a fig from the box. I got several figs from the last batch I bought including a Toy Story Rex with no tail. That's the annoying thing about they grab bags but there you go, someone's always trying to screw with you.
