The third series aired about a year and a half after the second series ended. They did 7 new shows that aired starting Oct 31, 1978. I have never heard anyone explain why the British TV series come in such short bursts. What started that. I bet the internet might be able to tell me but I'd have to ask the right question and I'm busy right now anyway. John Alderton returns as various characters from the P G Wodehouse stories that are adapted for the episodes that make up this last lot. His wife, Pauline Collins didn't return and the various female characters are played by other tv stars like Sally Thomsett, who was in Man About The House, and Liza Goddard, who was in Skippy the Kangaroo. I used to watch both of those shows when I was a young lad growing up in Canada. I haven't seen Skippy since then and the episodes of MATH I saw in the 1990's just weren't that great. I still think that Sally Thomsett was pretty darn cute in those shows. I don't remember ever seeing these Wodehouse adaptations but I wasn't watching that much tv in the late 70's. I was out a lot. I am trying to make up for that now that I am home more often. Mostly these stories were similar enough to the previous seasons and I enjoyed them. If you liked the others you probably are going to get a bit of the same from these. If you didn't like them you might not like the stories they are taken from. I'd recommend Wodehouse as an entertaining read with a nice sense of humor and a wonderful writing style but not everyone can read the guy. That's just the way things are, you know, I can't read China Meiville. Here's your chance to see these episodes for free on YouTube. Hope that's legal, huh.
