I watched the second season of the show. There are 31 episodes and they ran from October 2 1961 to May 7 1962. All the regular characters are back, Sheriff Andy Taylor and his son Opie, Aunt Bee, Otis the town drunk, Deputy Barney Fife and Floyd the barber. Andy's girlfriend from the first season, Elinor Donahue, is gone and the sheriff dates a couple of different gals during the season. The show is still B&W but Andy Griffith's portrail of the sheriff has a bit less color in it. He was a bit more of the joker in the first season. The plots are the usual tv sitcom plots, Opie gets bullied, Barney falls for a girl who's a con artist, crooks try to rob the bank,
Aunt Bee has a thing for the handyman,
Andy and Barney trade jobs for a day, hillbillies visit the town,
Floyd hires a sexy manicurist and Barney looses another prisoner. All the usual stuff. There's a steady stream of little jokes and good natured bits. The characters are pleasant for the most part. Barney continues to turn more goofy and useless than he started out. I'm enjoying them and will continue to look at the rest of the seasons. I found that there are a lot of the episodes at YouTube and have hidden 2 or 3 links in the post.
