In 1970 I meet Chester D Cuthbert and he introduced me to SF fandom. Back when he was a younger guy he wrote a couple of stories that got published in Wonder Stories. The Last Shine was published in the same issue as Stanley Weinbaum's A Martian Odyssey. Chester didn't get paid and he later joined a group of writers that sued editor Hugo Gernsbach for their cash. At some point he passed along a pile of pages from Wonder Stories that had his two stories in it. They were stapled together with hand made staples. It's so old and brittle that I took it apart and scanned the pages with Chester's stories on them. I haven't read them in more than 30 years so it will be nice to read them again. Chester was pretty much a big A Merritt fan and his stories have that feel to them.
