I found a copy of The Undertaker And His Pals at the Internet Archive. It's also posted to YouTube and there are plenty of low budget dvds available. I didn't think I needed to add the dvd to my stack after seeing it. It's a 1966 horror comedy that's written and directed by TLP Swicegood. It's his only directing credit on the IMDb so it's no surprise I hadn't ever heard of him. He has a couple of other writing credits listed, one for an episode of the 1960's TV series The Untouchables and a movie called Escape From Hell Island. I might have see the episode of The Untouchables when it was new, I remember watching that series when it was on reruns. I haven't seen the movie but I see it's adapted from a Robert Sheckley novel. One site said it was the most boring movie they've ever seen. I'm sure that can't be but I might never know.
The Undertaker And His Pals is highly low budget and it's moderately funny. There's plenty of gore and dismemberment but it's pretty cartoony looking. The undertaker's pals are a couple of guy who run a shitty café. The three of them go out at night killing to drum up business for the funeral home. They dismember the corpses and use the meat for the café.
There's some cops, and a private eye, on their trail. Luckily the killers are careless and they get the undertakers motorcycle license. All the killers come to a gruesome end that made me laugh. They deserved it, they killed a bunch of people. It's definitely not for everyone but those that like a gory comedy will probably get a laugh or two out of it.
