Time Out For Rhythm is a 1941 comedy film with Rudy Vallée, Ann Miller and the Three Stooges which were Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Curly Howard. It was written by Bert Granet, Edmund L Hartmann, Bert Lawrence and Alex Ruben. Sidney Salkow was the director. Granet worked with Desilu Productions and was instrumental in getting Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone on the air in the late 1950s when he produced his successful pilot pitch The Time Element for Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse. Granet served as the show's producer during its fourth and fifth seasons. He also produced the series The Untouchables. -Wikipedia. Salkow direct several movie and some TV programs that I've seen. He co-directed the Vincent Price film The Last Man On Earth. I really enjoy that film quite a bit. He directed episodes of Lassie and The Addams Family and I know I have seen a lot of those.
Rudy has a talent agency with Richard Lane and the Stooges are actors who show up looking for work. They do a lot of scenes in the movie, mostly preforming their vaudeville routines. There's some drama at the office when Rudy and Richard have a falling out over Rosemary Lane. She's a singer who's only interested in herself. The delightful Ann Miller pops in for a dance and a song or two. Alan Hale Jr turns up in a small part. It pretty much follows the musical comedy format and it's about average. It's part of the 6 film DVD set that I picked up a bit ago. The set is done and shelved. I had a nice bunch of laughs and I'd look forward to seeing them again in the future.
