Sync is a 2012 film that's cobbled together from a series of web shorts. Tanner Thomason plays a guy who was digitized and now he exists as a computer program that can change cyborg bodies with the flick of his special watch. When a young woman in China unleashes a virus it gets into the Sync system and they want to shut it down, thus putting him off line. He has 48 hours to blah, blah, blah. I was getting bored with it pretty quick and started speeding it up on the VLC player. The story element that put me out of the story was Tanner has a girlfriend and wants to marry her. That was one of the bits that made no sense. He's not real. He's a cyborg or whatever. Another thing that bothers me is that Tanner treats the bodies like they are disposable yet he gets all upset when the baddies kill one. There's some action and a dangerous situation to deal with as the virus spreads but I wasn't carrying too much. I'm now up to watching it at 2x speed. It's not like it's awful but it's not that interesting. At least to me, the IMDb gives it a 7.4, so someone else must like it. Or the company that made it had all their pals vote. There are only 432 votes and 70% of them voted in the 8-10 range. That's way too skewed to be real. The ending is pretty much an open door for something that I hope not to see.
Total Reality is a 1997 science fiction film about a bleak future. There's a big space battle and the main character kills his commanding officer when he orders a ship filled with civilians destroyed. He gets charged with murder and gets tossed into jail. He's offered a chance to commute his sentence by going back in time to 1997 and killing the guy who caused all the trouble in the future. I started the movie at 2x speed and never took it off that. Made a 93 minute movie go by much quicker. It's below average and not worth bothering with.
