The 26th film Abbott and Costello made for Universal-International Pictures was Abbott And Costello Meet Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and it was the second movie they released in 1953. It's written by Howard Dimsdale, Sid Fields, Grant Garett, John Grant and Lee Loeb. Charles Lamont continues to direct the guys. Boris Karloff returns to work with Bud and Lou in the Dr Jekyll role. Stuntman Eddie Parker appeared as Mr Hyde though he's uncredited on the film.
Bud and Lou are a couple of American police men who are in London working for the London Police Force. They get involved with a suffragette demonstration and get kicked off he force. There are some mysterious murders going on at the time and the guys think they can get back on the force if they catch the unnamed Mr Hyde.
There's plenty of running about and yelling as Bud and Lou try to find the monster. There's a bunch of jokes and plenty of getting smacked. It's not as interesting nor as much fun as the other Abbott and Costello monster features. You'd think with 5 writers they could have come up with more gags. Too many cooks I guess. It's still good for a laugh or two, even the second time around for me. Only two more films to go.
