Tales of Terror is another Vincent Price anthology film, this time with Edgar Allan Poe stories. The stories are Morella, The Black Cat (plus a bit of another Poe story, The Cask Of Amontillado) and The Facts in the Case of M Valdemar. It's written by Richard Matheson and directed by Roger Corman.
Vincent is joined by Peter Lorre, Maggie Pierce, Debra Padget, Leona Gage and Basil Rathbone amongst others. The script is pretty good, there's a nice mix of drama, comedy and horror. It made me laugh. Worth a look for those who like Vincent and horror movies with a sense of humor. Here's a nice picture that shows the cat audition.
There, it was nice to see a movie that was much better than the crap I had been watching earlier in the day. One just can't wallow in filth all the time, huh.
