Only 6 books for May last year. Two each by two authors that I have read several other books by.
The Beverly Hillbillies - The Saga Of Wildcat Creek by Doris Schroeder w In this story Jed and the Clampett's meet a fellow hillbilly. They help him get out of a spot of trouble with rifles. It was pretty entertaining, one of her better books, and I've read several of them. I'll put it with the Whitman collection for now.
The Happy Highwayman - Leslie Charteris w A 1939 collection of short stories providing fairly good entertainment. Six of the nine stories were adapted for The Saint TV series with Roger Moore. One of the stories is about a scientist who's genetically engineered some giant ants. The Saint burns them up so we're safe.
The Saint In Europe - Leslie Charteris w Here's another story collection, this one from 1953, and all 7 stories were adapted for the TV series. I like several of these stories quite a bit.
Blondie And Dagwood's Footlight Folly - Chic Young w A 1947 novel based on the comic strip. It was fairly entertaining but it shares the annoying thing that made me less interested in the comic strip, Dagwood is such an wimp. I might like him better if he stood up for himself.
Annie Oakley in Double Trouble by Doris Schroeder w Whitman 1538 is based on the Annie Oakley TV series. It wasn't as interesting as some of the other Whitman TV adaptions. I'll keep it with the other TV Whitman adaptions for the time being.
A Wizard Of Mars - Diane Duane w The ninth book in the series has Nita and Kit on Mars trying to stop yet another calamity. Way too many of these novels have a world destroying thing going on. It's getting tiring. This series isn't going to be a keeper that's for sure.
I hope to do better next month and I should do well in 2016. Eventually I'll get to blogging about those books.
