The Falcon And The Co-Eds is the 7th Falcon movie in the series and on the 1st DVD set from the Warner Brothers Archives. It came out in 1943. It's directed by William Clemens and written by Gerald Geraghty and Ardel Wray. Ardel wrote the screenplays for Val Lewton at RKO; I Walked With A Zombie and The Leopard Man and Isle Of The Dead. He didn't write much else. Between 1928 and 1958 Gerald wrote 91 films, most of them western, many of which I have seen. The most famous might be The Phantom Empire. He wrote two more Falcon pictures which I'll be getting too soon.
Tom Conway is the Falcon and he gets involved with murder at a girls private college. The IMDb Goofs page for the film says: The young ladies referred to in the title are in an all female institution, hence are technically not "co-eds". It's probably safe to assume that the writers didn't get any co-ed-ucation.
The cast includes Jean Brooks, Rita Corday, Edward Gargan, George Givot and Dorothy Malone. There's a pretty good script, the usual silly antics and snappy patter. I'm greatly enjoying these and plan to work through the second DVD set next.
