It's 1963 and Ralph Thomas has delivered the fifth Doctor movie, Doctor In Distress to Producer Betty Box. Nicholas Phipps returns as screenwriter, he shares the credit with Ronald Scott Thorn. This time around the movie isn't based on any of Richard Gordon's novels. It's not like he didn't write enough of them, there are 19 listed on his Wikipedia page.
Dirk Bogarde returns as Dr Sparrow and James Robertson Justice returns as Sir Lancelot Spratt. Samantha Eggar, Barbara Murray, Donald Houston, Leo McKern, Dennis Price, Frank Finlay, Richard Briers, Fenella Fielding, Peter Butterworth and Ronnie Barker are among the cast.
I found this one to be like the others, there's some silly bits, some jokes and a bit of romance for Dr Sparrow and Dr Spratt. I'd recommend them to someone who wants a low gear comedy of the old school variety.
They sure got a lot of use out of those images of Dirk Bogarde and James Robertson Justice. Not the best posters I've seen for a movie but they are consistent.
