Series 8 of Top Gear starts with Jeremy Clarkson introducing the show's new dog. She's afraid of cars and James May. Jeremy has more hair than he had in Series 9. There are plenty of car reviews and nice roads around the UK. The 8 episodes aired from May to July 2006.
There are plenty of challenges. The guys make a convertible minivan. Richard goes to Iceland to race a powered canoe with a Land Rover. He hits an iceberg. The trio host a drive time show and really cock that up. They run off into the evening before the show ends. They turn cars into boats with a mixed amount of success. They take up caravaning with a moderate amount of damage. James takes racing lessons from Jack Stewart.
The Star In The Reasonably Priced Car gets a new car, the Suzuki Liana is replaced with a Chevrolet Lacetti. The first show has several stars to build up the lap board: Alan Davies, Trevor Eve, Jimmy Carr, Justin Hawkins, Rick Wakeman, Les Ferdinand. The rest of the series sees Gordon Ramsey, Philip Glenister, Ewan McGregor, Sir Michael Gambon, Brian Cox, Steve Coogan and Ray Winstone in the drivers seat getting their race on. The Liana continued to appear on TV in a new segment called F1 Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.
