For some reason this collection of four horror films with big critters is a whopping $39.88 on Amazon. Two others are $70.46 and $148.40. You can find one on eBay for 20 bucks or if you're lucky, like me, you'll find it on the clearance shelf at Half Price Books for 3 bucks. The odd thing is the cost of the movies themselves is way less than the collection. About 30 bucks, or less if you buy used. I buy used DVDs all the time and have had very little wrong with them. I return more new DVDs than used ones. The used ones I return usually turn out to be duplicates. I forget what I have sometimes.
The only one I hadn't seen before was Octopus. It turned out to be poor like it's sequel Octopus 2: River Of Fear. Most of the first takes place in a submarine and the movie ends on a cruise ship. The sequel moves the action to the Hudson River during the Fourth Of July weekend. Neither one of them is much more than a 3 to me. The CGI giant octo was fair but often it was dark so you didn't see much of anything.
Crocodile is a 2000 Toby Hooper film and sadly it's not more than a 3 to me either. It scores a 3.8 on the IMDb but nearly 12% of the votes are a 10. No way that movie is a ten. I did like the dog and the crocodile wasn't too bad either.
Blood Surf gets a 3 too. Some surfers spread chum on the waves to attract sharks. Then the idiots surf through the sharks. A giant 30 foot long shark comes a calling and chomping on the surfers. All pretty dumb.
