I was going through my old home made DVDs and decided to order a copy of Treasure Island to replace the so-so copy from TCM. It came today and I watched it this afternoon. It's fun watching poor Jim Hawkins get tricked by Long John Silver. Makes me laugh. I like Robert Newton but I'm not as fond of Bobby Driscoll as Jim. He isn't in the sequel Return To Treasure Island. I watched that recently and enjoyed it. TI is directed by Byron Haskins and he does a great job. I know I'll be watching this again sometime, though probably not so soon.
I've watched this in the past, probably a number of times. I don't have the DVD but am tempted to get it.
