The Scotland Yard Mystery is a 1934 film that is called The Living Dead in the US. It's based on a play by Wallace Geoffrey, Frank miller is the screen writer, Thomas Bentley is the director. Bentley directed the 1937 Murder At The Baskervilles with Arthur Wontner as Sherlock Holmes. I don't recognize any of his other many films. Gerald du Maurier is Commissioner Stanton and he stumbles onto a plot by a doctor to fake people's death for the insurance. To get this done the doctor uses a serum to make people think the person is really dead, it helps he's also the police surgeon. The doctor wakes up the dead with another serum, they get a big payout from the insurance, he gets a cut. I've only seen two movies with Gerald du Maurier in them and I wish I had some others to watch. He was only in 10 films between 1917 and 1934. He passed away in 1934 at the age of 61. George Curzon is the villainous doctor and he's pretty creepy. I found it entertaining, glad I picked it up. It's another film in The British Film series.
