I finally finished the 5th season of Maverick and I'm done the whole series.I might have even enjoyed this series better than the last one. Jack Kelly is the only Maverick in the series and the stories are about the same. It just seemed more lively than the last series. Perhaps it was being played more for laughs. I got through it unscathed and might even watch them again someday. There's still more Maverick to come. I have copies of The New Maverick, a 1978 TV movie with James Garner and Jack Kelly, and Bret Maverick, a 1981 TV series with James Garner. More on those in the distant future. I don't have copies of Young Maverick, a 1979 TV series with another Maverick, this time Ben, who got cancelled before they even aired the whole season. Charles Frank stars as Ben, James Garner only appears briefly in the first episode, then the two ride off on different roads. One reviewer said they followed the wrong Maverick. It's also $24.95 on Amazon. That's hardly enticing. Neither is The Gambler Returns: The Luck Of The Draw. Jack Kelly appears briefly in this Kenny Rogers Gambler movie. I have a tiny interest in seeing Jack and the other older Western stars in brief cameos but that Kenny Rogers is like some Kryptonite shit to me.
