The Terrible People 1960 Based on a Edgar Wallace novel, screenplay by J Joachim Bartsch and Wolfgang Schnitzler, directed by Harald Reinl. It's a German film that was titled Die Bande des Schreckens. It's also known as The Hand Of The Gallows.
That's a bank robber, he gets caught and turns killer. At his hanging he curses the people who caught and tried him. He'll return from the dead and kill them all. He's left a list of those he plans to kill.
The guy on the right is Joachim Fuchsberger, he's the cop who arrested the bank robber, he's on the list. Joachim played Scotland Yard detectives in 13 Edgar Wallace adaptations. He was alright here. The other man is Fritz Rasp, he plays Joachim's father is this movie, in 1925 he'd played The Thin Man in Metropolis. His career started in 1916 and his last credit is 1976, which was the year he died.
There's plenty going on, the murders start soon after the bank robber gets hung. His ghost is seen at the scene of the murders and Scotland Yard can't seen to catch him. It's like he disappeared. At least SY have a list of those who are to be killed, they gather them up but it barely helps, still people are turning up dead.
There's plenty of interesting location shooting, some bits of action and a nice bunch of terrible people behind it all. Enjoyable to watch and one I would watch again. You can check it out on YouTube, in the link above, or download a nicer copy at Rarelust.
