Inhumanwich! 2016 Written and directed by David Cornelius.
A monster movie parody that has an astronaut return to Earth as a massive blob of man eating sloppy joe. He grows as he eats and space guy Dr Chang thinks he'll grow large enough to eat Cincinnati in a couple of days. Now the space agency and the government have to figure out how to destroy that unlucky astronaut. It's not a great movie, not one of those little gems I've been hoping for, but it has some jokes and bits that are funny. Just not enough of them to sustain the movie to the end. It tries to capture that 50s monster movie vibe without trying to mimic the past technology and such. The people try to act 50s but they have computer monitors on their desks. The cars are new but it's in black and white. I think it's barely average and it's another movie that makes me wonder what an original movie by David would be like. I might never know. It's his only feature so far, he has another in post production called 71 Minutes With The President Of The United States. I might never see that.
Point B 2013 Written by David Gitlin and directed by Conor Long.
Some science guys at a university have invented a transporter. They can travel a fair distance but it's a rough trip. It's like they traveled by floo powder and got punched in the gut as they arrived. The travelers arrive covered with dirt and there's some puking. While they test their device they argue about what to do with it. The bald headed guy is kind of a dick and he lets the cat out of the bag to a creep at the university. The creep tells some hard ball business types who become determined to have that tech. Now the inventors have to deal with that psychopath and their own foibles. I found the main characters grew on me somehow, like mold mostly, and there were a few jokes. It's slightly better than the first film but I don't think I need to add either of them to my collection for re-watching.
