Dentist On The Job 1961 Written by Hugh Woodhouse and Hazel Adair with additional material by Bob Monkhouse, directed by C M Pennington-Richards. A sequel to Dentist In The Chair from 1960.
That's Kenneth Conner, Bob Monkhouse, Shirley Eaton and Ronnie Stevens, left to right. Bob and Ronnie have finally graduated dental school, barely, and before they can set up their own practice they get hired by Proudfoot Industries. Proudfoot wants to promote their new toothpaste and having a dentist to endorse it would be a positive in their marketing plan. The trouble is the dentist would be struck off.
They hire the boys but tell them they're coming on as consulting dentists. The guys buy a lot of equipment and set up a dental office in the factory. They also hire Kenneth Conner as their dental mechanic. Their patients are all pretty young woman from the factory floor. Bob meets Shirley along the way and he's smitten. The guys decide, without consulting the top brass, that they should improve the new toothpaste and set about blowing up the lab and creating a big stir. Their toothpaste formula gets worked out and they come up with a plan for some space based advertising.
There's some jokes and some knockabout stuff, most of it worked fine, I got a few laughs. It's another in Networks series The British Film and I was glad to have picked it up. I'll want watch the first movie and this again sometime.
