Doctor Who 0043 The Wheel In Space Six part story that aired April 27 to June 1 1968. Story by Kit Pedler, screenplay by David Whitaker, directed by Tristan de Vere Cole. Episodes 1, 2, 4 & 5 are missing, the two remaining episodes are available on the Lost In Time DVD set, the entire serial is available on audio CD. Linking script by Michael Stevens, read by Wendy Padbury.
The serial starts with Jamie lamenting Victoria leaving the Tardis. A malfunction in the Tardis strands Jamie and The Doctor in a spaceship near a space station. The ship is empty except for that robot with the big knobs. The Doctor is hurt and Jamie destroys the robot. Back on the space station the Controller is worried the spaceship could be a danger to the station, he wants to destroy it. Luckily, Jamie figures a way to contact the station, the pair are rescued. The Doctor gets some medical help on the station. He pretty much remains unconscious through the 2nd episode, a body double in a bed was used as Patrick Troughton was on holiday for the week.
It slowly becomes apparent that the Cybermen are attacking the station. They've got a complicated plan that's pretty much unsuccessful with the Doctor in the house. There's plenty of running about and yelling. Some people are killed by the Cybermen but the Doctor manages to defeat them with the help of Zoe, played by Wendy Padbury, and she stows away on the Tardis when the guys leave.
I thought it was a fair story and it would be better with the visuals. There was a version shot from the Telesnaps but that was only released on Netflix. Maybe someday they'll have that on DVD with the animated missing episodes.
Doctor Who 0044 The Dominators Five part story that aired August 10 to September 7 1968. Screenplay play by Norman Ashby (Mervyn Haisman and Henry Lincoln), directed by Morris Barry. I watched this story before and pretty much feel the same about it. Here's that post from 2013.
