The Midnight Warning 1932 Written by John T Neville and Norman Battle, directed by Spencer Gordon Bennet. This film first appeared on TV in Philadelphia on Oct 15 1949.
A young woman's brother disappears from the hotel they were staying at and someone is shooting through the hotel's windows. The young woman hires a detective who has special magnifying glasses so he can read lips from afar. Lucky for him all the baddies discuss their plans at just the right time. Eventually the detective figures out what's happening.
It's got a weak script with a silly gimmick, it's below average to me. Not one I'd jump to see again. You can test drive it on YouTube at the link above.
