Doctor Who 0076 The Ark In Space Four part story that aired January 25 to February 1975. Written by Robert Holmes and an uncredited John Lucarotti, directed by Rodney Bennett.
The Tardis takes the Doctor, Sarah and Harry to a space station instead of the quick trip to the moon the Doctor had in mind. The ark is filled with humans in suspended animation. An alien had cut off the wake up alarm. The Doctor wakes up some of the humans who prove to be annoying. The Doctor helps them battle the alien so they can revive the humans and repopulate the Earth.
I liked the story well enough. I read my old post and found the DVD I watched today is the single disc version so I ordered the 2 disc version from Amazon.
Doctor Who 0077 The Sontaran Experiment Two part story that aired February 22 to March 1 1975. Written by Bob Baker and Dave Martin, directed by Rodney Bennett.
After the space ark is saved the trio take a trip to Earth to see what's going on there. They find a Sontaran has been active on the planet and rescue some spacemen who had landed there.
Rock climbing, rock climbing and more rock climbing. The whole story was shot on location at Hound Tor in Dartmoor. It's a nice place to see on TV but I'm still not that keen on walking around there, too many people seem to be falling into ravines, Tom Baker broke his collarbone there and the actor playing the Sontaran had heart trouble. Still I enjoyed the story well enough but I agree with my younger self, sort of filler. I figured I'd watch a third story tonight.
Doctor Who 0078 Genesis Of The Daleks Six part story that aired March 8 to April 12 1975. Written by Terry Nation, directed by David Maloney.
At the end of the last story the Doctor, Sarah and Harry are transporting back to the space station. They don't make it, the Time Lords have snatched them and placed them on the planet Skaro. The TLs want the Doctor to stop Davros from creating the Daleks. Davros proves to be a hard guy to stop but the Doctor gives it a good go. I enjoyed it for the most part.
