Left Turn June 21 2008 Written by Russell T Davies and directed by Graeme Harper.
Donna visits a fortune teller who is a front for the Trickster. Donna gets her fortune read and a large invisible beetle latches onto her back. It creates an alternate universe in her head. In it she turned left instead of right causing her to miss meeting the Doctor. The whole universe nearly comes to an end.
Rose appears to Donna through the show, finally taking her to a time machine that will send her back to make sure she gets herself to turn right. Donna dies on her mission, the fake reality unravels, and she's back in the fortune teller's booth.
The Stolen Earth June 28 2008 Written by Russell T Davies and directed by Graeme Harper.
Someone steals the Earth and the Doctor visits the Shadow Proclamation to find out where it's gone. The Earth isn't alone in disappearing, there are another 26 planets that have disappeared. They've all reappeared in the same place.
Turns out it's those pesky Daleks again. It also turns out Davros is alive and he quickly enslaves the Earth. Former Prime Minister Harriet Jones calls some of the Doctor's pals and they create a magic gizmo to space phone him.
The Doctor joins Captain Jack, Martha Jones, Sarah Jane Smith, Rose Tyler and some other family members in fighting the Daleks. The Doctor gets shot and regenerates in the Tardis.
Journey's End July 5 2008 Written by Russell T Davies and directed by Graeme Harper.
The Doctor stops regenerating and dumps some power into the severed hand that he lost in an earlier series. That power surges into Donna and she gains some Doctor knowledge. The hand regrows a body and creates a more human version of the Doctor. They are color coded to be able to tell them apart.
Back with the Daleks we learn that Davros plan is to destroy reality cause he's a massive crazy dick. The bomb will destroy all matter in all universes. Somehow it doesn't seem surprising that this is the second end of the multi universes I've seen this week. Donna saves the day with her new Doctor knowledge, the clone Doctor destroys the Daleks. Most everyone goes home and the Doctor heads out for a new adventure. Donna's human mind can't take the power of the Doctor in her head. It will kill her so the Doctor removes all her memories and takes her home. The Doctor drops Rose and the cloned Doctor in her universe before it seals up again.
So far this is the best story of the series and the series is certain to become a favorite. Kind of a sad ending for Donna but that's the chance you take being the Doctor's companion. The commentaries were fine and the Companion episodes were their usual quality. There was a short video diary by David covering the last two episodes. H didn't do any diary's for the regular episodes of the series. There was also 30 min long 4th series overview that suffered from being mostly clips from the show.
