Culprits Series 1 Created, written and directed by J Blakeson.
I watched the first series of Culprits. A gang of robbers are being picked off one by one by an unknown assassin. It's an 8 episode series that has plenty of action, plenty of talk and a lot of racing about in cars and on foot. The story jumps around, we get scenes from before the robbery, during the robbery, after the robbery and the present. Titles pop up telling you where and when you are. It could be confusing without that bit of aid.
Most of the story takes place in the US and London. The guy in the light blue hoodie is Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, he plays Joe, nicknamed Muscle by the leader of the caper, a woman called Diane who is played by Gemma Arterton. She hands out nicknames to the crew and calls herself Brains. The gang steal 100 million British pounds from some rich criminals secret vault and the surviving members split the cash and run away. Someone later retribution comes in the form of a mask wearing assassin.
It's a fairly compelling story that kept me interested despite all the family drama. There's plenty of padding, it's an nearly 8 hour long story and a good number of scenes could be easily trimmed to speed things up. It's on Disney+ in the UK right now. Should be in the US before too long I would suspect. I would still recommend it for those that like an action packed crime story.
