Clarkson's Farm Series 3
The third series aired over the last two weeks, I watched all 8 episodes and enjoyed the heck out of them. This year sees the farm experience some good news and some bad news, some sadness and some joy, some births and some deaths, plenty of farming and plenty of Jeremy. I don't see as much poo as I do on the YouTube farms shows I watch. Mind you they do have that end covered pretty well. All told, I had plenty of laughs and I felt sad for the little piggies.
Several of the new born piglets were killed by their mothers lying on them. Clarkson had the pig hut company make an add-on to give the pigs a safe place to lie and the device cut the deaths by more then half. The little piglets are pretty cute, the mothers pretty careless.
Diddly Squat Farm has plenty of ups and downs. They won their appeal with the local council so the farm shop and the burger van are still going strong and they get a new parking lot. Jeremy made Caleb farm manager then Gerald got really sick. Thankfully he got better.
Jeremy's made Caleb the farm manager and then he decided to try making money from the unfarmed areas of the farm. Jeremy buys some pigs, buys some goats, tries making nettle soup for the shop, grows some mushrooms to sell. Things don't always go well, there's a big struggle with the weather, some of the crops have bad yields.
I thought this season was the best yet. The story engages and the images are stunning. There's a fourth series coming in a year or so.
