First Signal 2021 Written and directed by Mark Lund.
Mark chose to set most of his film in in one of two conference rooms. After a brief bit of intro blather he moves five characters into a conference room for nearly 50 mins, then a couple of characters meet in an other conference room, followed by a good bit of time in the first conference room. There's a short bit at the end that has a couple of characters in a field.
The story is about some aliens living on Earth, the human's don't know about them. It's all been kept secret from the public. We learn all this stuff from the endless talk talk talk. The movie is mind numbing. Nothing happens. Glen doesn't seem to have made any other movies since this. That's OK, sometimes you only have the one movie in you. Let's hope.
Yesterday's Girl 2018 Written by Mike Garrick and Steven J Heath, directed by Mike Garrick. An Australian movie.
Mike sets most of his film outdoors. He's got characters walking in a field, walking through a woods, walking through a cityscape. There's also a lot of drone shots of characters walking through those places. I'm well bored of long drone shots with the camera aimed at the ground. It flies, move it around in an interesting way.
The story is about some characters who are murdered. They wake up somewhere and odd things are happening. An evil entity is chasing the murder victims. He's got some minions in black. It seems to be the end of the world but nothing is ever explained. There's just endless running through the woods and vague bits of story. In the end it seems the murdered characters are beamed up to heaven and the evil entity seems to be the devil.
I wasn't enjoying this much at all. I wouldn't watch this again, same for the first film.
